“Kristie has been my instructor for the past several months. She brings the perfect mix of enthusiasm, encouragement and acceptance to her teaching. She clearly is knowledgeable and is able to modify her instruction to the client’s needs. As a surgeon, I come from a traditional “non-yoga” background. Through her instruction, I am improving my posture and flexibility tremendously. Kristie will approach a difficult yoga position and encourage me to do it “with joy in your heart”. Kristie brings joy to her work and allows her clients the joy of learning as well.”

“Kristie helped me obtain a range of motion I didn’t think possible for my body. As a professional body builder with my sights set on going pro, I knew I needed to maintain a sense of balance both physically and mentally. A weekly yoga therapy session with Kristie has gotten me there. Don’t let her size fool you, she has been able to support me (and I’m about 3x her weight) through poses that have helped to correct my body symmetry and alignment. I never thought yoga would be a part of my body building training repertoire, and now I can’t imagine my program without it.”

“Kristie has an inate ability to help you keep that balance between pushing oneself to new levels while keeping yoga the intuitive and restorative practice it needs to be. This just seems to come natural for her. She has been an important part in the healing process for me with a back injury I sustained. With her help, I have been able to get back into an exercise routine and do so with confidence. Thank you, Kristie!”

“When I started practicing yoga with Kristie I had no previous training, just a vague familiarity with the poses. Several months later, at a well-known spa, an instructor asked if I had practiced for a long time, commenting on how good my form was. Kristie gives excellent one-on-one instruction. She helped me overcome my fear of inversions and has gently coaxed me into postures, using props, that I never thought I would attempt.
Yoga with Kristie is a challenging, yet relaxing experience.”

“Kristie is absolutely committed to her student’s physical, mental and spiritual well-being. I began seeing her last summer as I was beginning to prepare for my wedding. Each time we met, she helped me not only address my concern of how I would look in my dress but addressed my mental posture as well. Personal yoga practice with her absolutely helped me to stay “calm, cool and collected” on my special day. I have transitioned from bride-to-be to wife, and continue to work with her regularly. Training with Kristie has improved my ability to look and feel my best and I am so thankful.”

“Having severe Ankylosing Spondylitis with damage to my spinal cord, I have to approach any exercise routine with caution. I was hesitant to try yoga, but upon meeting Kristie I felt comfortable that it would not hurt to try for several weeks. Kristie is fantastic to work with. She puts you at ease and works with any limitations. She even took it upon herself to research my condition and determine which routines would provide the best benefits.

After several weeks I knew I was gaining mobility and movement that were thought to be lost forever. But the best compliment came from my rheumatologist during a regular seven week visit when my physician commented that my posture had dramatically improved as well as having more mobility within my neck and shoulders. When the physician asked what I was doing, I told “Dr. A.” about Kristie and yoga, her comment was “Keep it up!”

Kristie’s yoga training and instruction has accomplished more than any previous physical therapists I have worked with.

If yoga can do that for someone with spinal disease, imagine what it will do for a person in general good health.

Thanks so much Kristie!”
